Do you feel passionately about a cause that is related to your coaching niche such as healthy eating for kids, empowerment for women or financial literacy for new parents?
Here’s an idea–volunteer your coaching services with an organization that is aligned with your passion.
Not only will you feel great about doing work with people who cannot afford traditional coaching rates, you will make connections with other volunteers who may be part of your paying audience.
Michele has been a long-term volunteer with the D.C. Central Kitchen , and finds it adds depth and richness to her coaching practice as well as strengthens her professional network.
Martha Beck volunteers with a local Phoenix drug rehab clinic, coaching patients who are trying to get off of crack. She says it makes her a better coach, and challenges her skills.
You don’t have to commit lots of time to volunteering, just start with an hour or two and see how you feel. You could donate coaching, speaking or mentoring.
Doing well by doing good is a great life strategy. Try it!
