Create a super-charged power gratitude bowl

In order to radiate the strong, confident, capable vibe that will attract clients to you like bees to honey, there is one small trick.

You have to feel strong, confident and capable.

Only sometimes you feel the opposite of that.

  • You are brand new in your coaching practice and you are afraid you don’t know what you are doing.
  • Your cat threw up a hairball on your best skirt this morning, and now you have to wear the itchy one that accentuates your thighs to your presentation (that you are late for).
  • Your life is not exactly the model of perfection, so how the hell can you tell anyone else what to do?

Time for creating a super-charged power gratitude bowl

Instructions:

  1. Find a totally beautiful, special bowl.
  2. Place it somewhere in your workspace where you can see it.
  3. Choose special paper that you will cut in strips
  4. Take 5 strips of beautiful paper and write one thing on each that you are really, really proud of. Like “Had a coaching conversation today with ___ that made my hair stand on end.” “My son told me I was a great Mom today.” “I looked like Carrie Bradshaw working those heels last night.”
  5. Place these good vibe strips in the bowl.
  6. Add one every time you do something that you are really proud of.
  7. When you feel like crap, read the good vibe strips.
  8. Remember that you are a fierce, capable and intelligent coach who will be of tremendous service to your perfect clients
  9.  Sit with that feeling.
  10. Radiate it. And watch your practice grow.

You are all that and more. Remember it.

Volunteer

Do you feel passionately about a cause that is related to your coaching niche such as healthy eating for kids, empowerment for women or financial literacy for new parents?

Here’s an idea–volunteer your coaching services with an organization that is aligned with your passion.

Not only will you feel great about doing work with people who cannot afford traditional coaching rates, you will make connections with other volunteers who may be part of your paying audience.

Michele has been a long-term volunteer with the D.C. Central Kitchen , and finds it adds depth and richness to her coaching practice as well as strengthens her professional network.

Martha Beck volunteers with a local Phoenix drug rehab clinic, coaching patients who are trying to get off of crack. She says it makes her a better coach, and challenges her skills.

You don’t have to commit lots of time to volunteering, just start with an hour or two and see how you feel. You could donate coaching, speaking or mentoring.

Doing well by doing good is a great life strategy. Try it!

Start With The End In Mind

Wow – the enthusiasm around Kick Ass Mentoring is awesome! We’re so glad you’re here and know you’re ready for this week’s tip:

Start with the end in mind.

That’s it.

You make your marketing purposeful when you frame it around what you want to get as a result of connecting with your people.

So let us ask you:

A year from now, what would you like to be able to say about your business?
How will your clients be different?
How will your life be different?
How will the world be different?
How will your finances be different?

Create your picture, and you are much more likely to see it come to life.
